Augusta, GA (WJBF) – The names of the clinical entities associated with Augusta University will change following support from the board of directors of Georgia Regents Health System and Georgia Regents Medical Center.

University President and Health System CEO Brooks A. Keel asked that Georgia Regents Health System become AU Health, Georgia Regents Medical Center become AU Medical Center, and Georgia Regents Medical Associates become AU Medical Associates. The children’s hopsital will remain the Children’s Hospital of Georgia. All other clinical operations will be renamed to include Augusta University.
“As we pursue the governor’s vision for a destination campus in Augusta with a top-50-ranked medical school and groundbreaking programs in cancer, computer science and cybersecurity, we must present ourselves as one unified brand to our students, our faculty, our community, our donors and legislators,” Keel said. “Aligning our university and health system under a single brand will demonstrate our scope and impact across the state.”
An implementation plan and timeline will be developed in coordination with the official organization rebrand project.
“The process for changing the names of our clinical entities will mirror the approach we use to transition our university name,” Keel added. “We are working with health system leadership and key constituents to answer questions about the new name and brand.”
