A rally is planned for Tuesday April 21st to keep “Lights of the South” shinning brightly next season.

WJBF News Channel 6’s Margaret Ann Carter joins us live in Evans with more on the story.

Margaret Ann, tell us about the rally and why people are upset?

It all started when Benjamin Bell, the owner of Lights of the South, asked county leaders to rezone some property so he could build a water park.

It’s the same piece of property where Lights of the South is located.

“I’m looking through the list I’m going, oh, my God. It’s the same stuff I’ve turned in how many times now? So who am I not giving it to?”

The peaceful rally is planned for 5:30 p.m.next to the Evans Government Center on Ronald Reagan Drive.

The group will then march to the commission meeting, which is scheduled to start at 6 p.m.
