The funeral for former Georgia lawmaker Joey Brush will happen Monday at 11 a.m. in Evans.

Services will take place at The Sanctuary. The burial will immediately follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.

Brush served four years in the Georgia State House and was elected to the state Senate in 1996, where he served eight years.

He was an avid motorcyclist and an advocate for bikers.

He sponsored a bill that would have repealed the Georgia law that requires all riders to wear helmets. The legislation failed.

An Augusta woman is being charged in his death. Kimberly Crouch faces a vehicular homicide charge.

She is currently out on bond.
